Our Mission:
Extending the Word of God to Others by the Way We Live, Love, & Serve

Who We Are
We earnestly bid you a blessed WELCOME to this branch of God’s House which has a 158-year legacy of involvement in the Warrenton and greater Fauquier County community. We are a friendly and giving church with a positive Christian witness in the spirit of worship.

FBC Vision

Living, Loving, & Serving
At First Baptist Church, we envision a Spirit-led future shaped by God’s grace—a church growing in faith, outreach, and community. Grounded in the Gospel and historic Christian tradition, our worship will be centered in Word and Sacrament, marked by authenticity and excellence.
Everyone who enters our doors will experience Christ’s love through warm welcome, faithful teaching, and caring relationships. We will nurture spiritual growth through sound, engaging Bible classes, equipping believers for leadership, service, family life, and faithful living. Our church will be known for love inaction—supporting one another and serving the lost and hurting in our community.
Through compassionate partnerships across Fauquier County and beyond, we will open doors for the Gospel. All we do flows from our commitment to reach upward in worship and prayer, inward in discipleship and care, and—trusting God to shape us into a church that brings Him glory and others to Christ.

What We Believe

We abide by the Articles of Faith and  the Baptist Church Covenant, proclaim the Word of God, and celebrate the ordinances of Water Baptism and Holy Communion according to the Gospel.
We further believe that God truly Hears and Answers Prayers. We pray for one another, for those in our communities, and for our government leadership, as well as for ourselves.

Community-Involved

We believe in serving our community and partner in fellowship with other churches and charitable and service organizations to enrich and bring about positive change in the lives of others.

We also join with Saint James Episcopal Church in honoring our faith traditions while celebrating our COMMON THREADS. Our primary mission is to work together to promote racial unity in order to build a healthy and loving community.

Incredible Lessons From Our Colleges & Friends

I never weary of great churches. It is my favorite kind of mountain scenery. Mankind was never so happily inspired as when it made a cathedral.

The Church must be intelligible to the simple as well as to the shrewd.

For where God built a church, there the Devil would also build a chapel.
